Nutritious smoothies are a delicious blend of various green leafy veggies and sometimes fruit and other ingredients. They are ready in a few seconds and are full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals prepared fresh and make it easy to get all of your daily vegetable requirements which many people struggle to achieve.

 

Everyone has heard from the time when they were children that we must eat our vegetables but that is easier said than done isn’t it?  Most people just don’t like eating a large quantity of vegetables everyday.

 

These may be an untold secret but preparing and drinking a green smoothie makes eating veggies a snap.

 

All you ever need in the way of a kitchen appliance is a quality blender or food processor. If you need to buy one go ahead and buy a better quality blender because you’ll be using it daily once you get hooked on healthy smoothies and you’ll want a blender that can hold up to daily use as well as have a good amount of blending power. If you have one already just use it for awhile and see how it works.  If you wear it out you’ll then be able to determine which new one you want based on your based on your own experiences.

 

Here’s a couple of my favorites green smoothie recipes to get you started:

 

Recipe 1

 

One of my all time favorite combos is mango and pineapple smoothies. It tastes great and if you add a bunch of spinach it then becomes super healthy too.

 

Ingredients you’ll need:

Two cups of fresh spinach

1 whole mango

1 peeled banana

8 oz. of pineapple cut in chunks

8 oz. of water

This may serve two people but I’ll bet you drink it all.

 

Recipe 2

If you are concerned with your age and believe green smoothies can help you’re right.  Here’s one with a secret ingredient…. Drum roll please….The secret ingredient is fresh ginger (ginger root)

 

You’ll need:

A cup of frozen berries of any type – make sure they are organically grown. Blueberries are great.

Two cups of fresh cut spinach

16 ounces of water

Just a 1/4 of an inch of ginger root grated before blending

It’s been known to keep inflammation down. Has twelve or more anti-oxidant properties that battle free radicals in your blood. Helps your heart functions as well as your blood platelet generation.
